The building of this centre started 3 years ago, as a result of teams working with Flavia Mbazi. Flavia began her work with street children several years ago on the streets of Kampala. Her time and energy went into gathering children together 3 times a week, feeding them, sharing the gospel, and doing some sports activities. This soon built a great trust between her and the unruly, solvent addicted individuals.
As we worked alongside Flavia on the streets, she shared her vision with us to construct a rehabilitation centre that would allow her to take the very young children off the streets and give them a home, security, education, and stability early in life - before becoming too wild, and damaged as a result of living rough. As a result, various teams have been raising money since 2002 to make this vision a reality.
As money was raised by teams over the past few years - Flavia was able to buy 50 acres of land, and begin to build her God given dream! The long-term vision is to have on site 25 houses (that will each hold 12 children and a houseparent), a school, a vocational training unit, and a clinic.
