We are a team from the Ballymoney and Ballymena areas of Co Antrim, Northern Ireland who go out to Uganda each January.
Our aim is to show the love of Christ in a practical way.

After our latest visit in January 2007 those in the picture above decided to take up the challenge of organising a fund
raising event in May.
Our group of volunteers goes under the collective of Ignite and together with Fields of Life another organisation with
corresponding aims we endeavour to help others help themselves.
Our goal is to run this event - Calor Gas Push to raise money for a school in Uganda, which has an estimated cost
of £50,000. This project would certainly change the lives of many children and even a whole community. The children in
Uganda would so desire to go to school as they know education will lead to a brighter future. Many of them dream that
some day they will have a school in there area.
On Saturday 5th May we plan to Push a Calor Gas half tonne tank on wheels from Belfast to Slemish. With the help
of a number of teams which will take the tank for 3 miles each and with 11 teams taking part we will cover the 32 miles
journey. The tank will act as a giant money box but also each team will have sponsor sheets.
We do appeal to local business and companies if they could make a donation. Our charity number can be given to those
who support us and a letter can be sent with all the details of the event.
Can I reassure everyone that our team will be going out at their own expense next January. The team for January 2008
leave family and friends and pay their own flights and will endeavour to see this school built to the highest
standards. All donations will go to the school venture. There are no hidden costs.
We as teams have been involved
for a number of years in different areas of Uganda and many small projects have been undertaken. For example we
have helped many orphaned children – in such cases we have overseen and helped build accommodation for these children.
From our experiences we now know the areas which need our help the most. This will obviously be our biggest venture
so far so we appeal for your help.
We have printed a small booklet to help anyone understand our plans and ideas for this worthwhile event.
Please join us with others and show your support for a needy Uganda.
